Hi, I’m Jim Poel.

I’m proud to be known for friendly and reliable customer service and involvement in the community.

I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Guelph in 1981 and went on to complete the Advanced Agricultural Leadership Program. I help my son-in-law operate our third-generation crop farm today.

Over the years, I’ve been a School Board Trustee and a Director at Libro Credit Union and served on the Ontario Processing Vegetable Growers Association Board. I’ve also volunteered for the Canadian Food for Children Charity since 1995. Over the past two decades, I’ve helped collect refurbished bikes and school supplies to send to third-world countries.

Jim Poel’s Highlights

  • Jim is an active advocate for our rural communities and has dedicated hundreds of hours to promoting farming and the well-being of rural Ontario.
  • Jim and his wife have been long-time active participants in the Thorndale Fair and were awarded the Meritorious Service Award from the Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies in 2017.
  • Cycling, skiing, and traveling are my passions.
